Info about Microsoft Reader

You should already have Microsoft Reader. Click on START, PROGRAMS (or All PROGRAMS), ACCESSORIES, ACCESSIBILTY and choose NARRATOR. Say OK to the Info box. It should now be on your Task Bar minimized. Left click on it to bring up some options.

"Read Out Loud" with Adobe PDF files

The Read Out Loud (might) only work when a PDF file is opened from a saved file on the hard drive.
To read a document out loud: Open an Adobe PDF document. Navigate to the page you want to read. Do one of the following:
1 Choose View > Read Out Loud > Read This Page Only.
     (Keyboard shortcut is SHIFT+CTRL+v)
2 Choose View > Read Out Loud > Read To End Of Document.
     (Keyboard shortcut is SHIFT+CTRL+b)
To interrupt the Read Out Loud feature: Do one of the following:
1 Choose View > Read Out Loud > Pause.
     (Keyboard shortcut is SHIFT+CTRL+c)
2 Choose View > Read Out Loud > Stop.
     (Keyboard shortcut is SHIFT+CTRL+e)

For more choices on the "Read Out Loud", while viewing the PDF document, Click on EDIT, PREFERENCES, select "READING" on the left of page. Take the checkmark out of "USE DEFAULT VOICE" and you may have other voices to try in the dropdown choices. Take the checkmark out of "DEFAULT SPEECH ATTRIBUTES". YOU may see "PITCH" and WORDS PER MINUTE" to try. As above, use the keyboard shortcuts to start and stop.
